Episode 85: Relaxed Eyes - Soften the System Intro Class
Episode 85:
Relaxed Eyes with Rolling Hands. This class is the third and final class I am posting as an introduction to the Body Matter Feldenkrais series, Soften the System.
Today we take another Feldenkrais® approach to practicing the ability to settle the body. This class again utilizes the powerful effect that calming the hands can have on our whole system, including our eyes. Our hands, palms, and fingers take up an enormous amount of room in both our sensory and motor cortex. Therefore, softening and quieting the hand, especially the dominant hand can be quite useful in calming the WHOLE system. If you can effectively calm (inhibit the unnecessary activity) in one area of the motor cortex, these processes tends to spread throughout the entire system. The areas adjacent to the effected area will also become quiet. This class is inspired by the teachings of David Webber to whom I am grateful for.
