Each course includes multiple Awareness Through Movement lessons or Yoga classes designed to inform each other. The classes are taught live on Zoom and then added to the course material. If there is a course you were not able to attend live, but you are interested in taking, the recording is available for purchase below. You will immediately receive an email about the course and have access to the course materials after purchase.
A new 8 week Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement Series
September 15th - November 13th, 2024
Wednesdays 6:30pm CST/ Sundays 4pm CST
Live classes will be taught on zoom*
This series will include eight lessons exploring the space of the eyes, mouth, jaw, ears, vocal and breathing apparatus and beyond. Often working in these areas will surprisingly release tension elsewhere in the body including the lower back, hips, shoulders and the abdomen. Most of the lessons in this series will be done lying on the back or the side.
Students can join anytime during the series, with the option to catch up with the recordings.

These classes will utilize some fan favorite stretching sequences that incorporate bolsters and other props to enhance the poses. Each class is an original, innovative creation of Sarah’s teaching. She blends a more traditional gentle yoga practice with the novel Feldenkrais® awareness practices. But that’s not all, she incorporates joint specific training, functional range exercises, self-massage, breathing exercises, and a compassionate non-competitive mindset. It’s a true experience of movement therapy!

Each of these Yoga + Feldenkrais Blended classes will infuse a more traditional yoga asana practice with the Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement method. These classes are an interdisciplinary excursion of yoga, Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement, joint specific training, self-massage, breathing exercises, movement puzzles, and a compassionate mindset to help you feel a greater sense of ease and comfort in yourself. Allow your body to be your guide. All levels are welcome.
So how are these Yoga + Feldenkrais blended classes different than a regular yoga class?
These classes typically begin with an exploratory floor sequence to engage the brain-body connection, awareness of breath, and activation of specific areas of the body that will be targeted during yoga poses. The last half of class is typically slightly more of a traditional yoga practice, in which the students have the opportunity to experience the yoga asanas from a new perspective and with the information gathered from the first part of class.
